What’s the next chapter?

After the intensity of the baby and child rearing years, mothers often find themselves standing in the space that’s left and wondering who they are. This chapter often brings on a few shifts which can feel disorienting and uncomfortable, but it’s also an awakening.

Women’s portrait sessions are a fun way to explore and reconnect women with themselves. Photography can be a surprisingly powerful tool for (re)discovering parts that are habitually held back and kept hidden. Giving these parts full expression is incredibly liberating and empowering.

I have a natural light home studio space in Grampound near Truro, or we can meet on-location outdoors in Cornwall or at your home.

My home studio is a quiet, intimate space ideal for newborn, baby and maternity sessions. Somewhere to take your time, feed your baby, and relax. Located in Grampound, within easy reach of Truro.

For every season and every session type - from sandy footed family adventures to golden hour maternity shoots to women's portraits in a natural landscape that feels home.

Cornwall has no shortage of beautiful backdrops for your photoshoot.

How much does a photoshoot cost?

I charge a session fee between £65 and £85 which covers prep and the session itself, and most clients invest £500 - £900 on their artwork and print products.

If you just want a handful, smaller packages are available.

I provide a full photography service with personal guidance each step of the way, from planning the details together in a pre-session consultation, to sitting beside you with the final edited photos at a dedicated viewing session, helping you choose your finished pieces.

I’m committed to making sure you love your photos. They will grow so much in value over the years - it’s got to be done properly.

A little about me

I'm Michelle, the person behind Curious Creatures Photography.

It started when I had my own baby and fell completely in love with him, and with how extraordinary life felt with him in it. I wanted photos that would capture that feeling. Not studio setups with props, but something real and warm, nostalgic and artistic. That kind of photography barely existed then, so I started learning it myself.

Twelve years later, that's still what I'm doing.

I'm down to earth and easy to be around, I know when to direct and when to step back. I’m a sensitive, deep thinking introvert by nature, but I love to clown around and chatting to little people is my happy place.

Based in Grampound, I photograph newborns, families, and women at every chapter, from the very first moments all the way through, in a meaningful and lasting way.
