If this is your first time here, you’re in the right place.

You don't need a perfectly settled baby, children who sit still and ‘behave’, or any idea of what you're doing at all. I don't need you to perform or expect you to be a certain way. You just need to show up as YOU - however you are. Being is enough.

This is an experience first, and a photoshoot second. My job is to create a space where things can unfold naturally, and then to be ready when they do.

There's a chapter that doesn't get talked about much: the one where your children don't need you in the same way anymore, and you find yourself standing in the space that's left, wondering who you are now.

For many women, this arrives in their forties. Something in life has shifted, and something in you has too. It can feel disorienting. It is also the beginning of something.

These sessions are an invitation to explore that. Not to perform, and not just to have your photo taken - but to be seen again.

It’s a chance to bring whatever this chapter holds (the uncertainty and the becoming) and have it met with warmth and acceptance - no judgement.

This is a guided experience - from our first conversation to choosing and ordering your finished pieces - nothing is rushed, and nothing is left to figure out alone.

Most clients invest between £600 and £900, choosing artwork and prints that live in their home rather than on a hard drive. The images are made with that in mind from the beginning.

Session fees and starting prices are on the pricing page - and if you'd like to talk through what's right for you before committing to anything, I'm always happy to do that first.

A little about me

I'm Michelle, the person behind Curious Creatures Photography.

It started when I had my own baby and fell completely in love - with him, and with how extraordinary that ordinary life felt. I wanted photos that would hold onto that feeling. Not studio setups with props, but something real and warm that I could look back on and still feel. Lifestyle photography barely existed then, so I started learning it myself.

Thirteen years later, that's still what I'm doing.

I'm warm and easy to be around, I know when to chat and when to step back. People tend to relax quickly, and that's when the real photos happen.

My approach is simple: I'm not here to manufacture a moment. It’s my job to be present for the ones that are already happening.

Based in Grampound, I photograph newborns, families, and women at every chapter, from the very tiny early days to the ones that are quietly, meaningfully yours.
