Hi, I’m Michelle

Why work with me?

Sessions with me aren’t about turning up, being told what to do, and getting some pictures taken. I’ve realised over the years that the experience is just as important as the images that result.

Do you want to say cheese so it looks like you’re smiling, or do you want to be so swept up in a moment that your smile radiates love and joy? Do you want to stand there holding your baby, or do you want to feel their breath on your chest, and the weight of their body in the arms that have ached for this moment forever?

My job is to keep bringing you back to where your heart is. That is what I want to capture for you.

I have been doing this for 13 years - enough time to know how fleeting all of these moments are, and how wonderful it is to capture a few in this way, before they’re gone.

Beyond motherhood

Mothers tend to lose themselves in motherhood - it’s a natural consequence of raising babies selflessly. I love photographing women, especially mums coming out of the baby years - usually blinking and wondering who they are, or where they’ve gone. You might be older, you might be a different person, but it’s important to know that you are still just as beautiful and worthy as ever, motherhood aside.

Women’s portrait sessions explore and capture the forgotten and undiscovered sides of you - there to remind you and also it’s a confidence boost!!

Studio or outdoor photoshoots in Cornwall

Home studio

My small but equipped baby-friendly home studio is in Grampound, between Truro and St Austell. It’s a quiet, intimate space ideal for newborn, baby and maternity sessions. Somewhere to take your time, feed your baby, and relax.

on-location in Cornwall

I also offer outdoor sessions throughout Cornwall, or at home. Family sessions are usually outdoors either at sunrise or just before sunset, and this is a beautiful option for maternity sessions too.

It’s not about the most dramatic scenery, though we are spoilt here in Cornwall for that. The moments are what matter, having a space that can hold them and allow them to unfold as naturally as possible. I tend to choose locations based on what’s going to feel the best for you - depending on the time of day, season, age of children etc.

How much does a photoshoot cost?

I charge a session fee for most of my photoshoots. This secures your slot and includes your photoshoot. The session fees begin at £65. Most people spend around £600 on images but small collections are available.

Each booking comes with my help in preparing, deciding on what to wear, understanding you and your story and tailoring things to make sure the experience feels fun and comfortable.

After our session, I go through the time consuming process of creating a beautifully curated gallery of hand edited images which is presented at your viewing & ordering appointment (2-3 weeks later).

Images are purchased here, either as packages, framed prints or digital bundles. Print & digital sets starting at £249. PayItMonthly all-inclusive collections from £64.80 per month.

Q: Do you photograph extended families?

A: Yes I do - I love multi generational photoshoots. There is a supplementary charge for these so get in touch to find out more.

Q: What if my children don’t behave during our family photo shoot?

A: My planning process and approach is designed to ensure that kids feel good and are more likely to cooperate. The idea is that everyone has a genuinely pleasant experience so nothing is forced, nobody has to do anything they don’t want to. This is covered in detail in prep guides and I’m always on hand to chat through concerns. But honestly, behaviour is just emotions being expressed, and I’m not wanting anyone to behave a certain way. I just want everyone to feel good.

Q: Where is your studio located and do you travel?

A: My home photography studio space is located in Grampound (between Truro & St Austell). I also travel throughout Cornwall for outdoor and at-home sessions.
