You don’t realise at the time how fleeting it all is when you begin a family. You think you’ll never forget how it felt to cradle your newborn in your hands, staring at their perfect little features as if time was standing still. Or the little hands as they reach for you, or their head resting on your chest. One day soon, your baby will no longer fit into your hands, or your arms, or your lap.

As many firsts there are to celebrate, there are the ‘lasts’ that slip by without warning.

Outdoor & on-location photoshoots in Cornwall

It’s always lovely to get outdoors for a session, and an ideal option for children and pets on the move. I am a country girl at heart and love the natural beauty of the Cornish landscape and coast.

Outdoors is suitable for any type of session - baby, child, family and maternity (even newborn), although these may be restricted by weather and best times for natural light.

Meet the Photographer

Hey! I’m Michelle. I started Curious Creatures Photography 13 years ago because I wanted natural, authentic photos of me and my baby that would really capture the essence of how it felt to have him. Not just how he looked, sat in a studio, but the every day moments that were filling my heart and fading just as quickly.

There was nothing around like that at the time and I fell in love with learning the art of photographing babies, motherhood and families naturally - obsessed with perfecting the mix of honesty and beauty with natural light.

I have also come to value the importance of having the images we create as print, from simple fine art 4x6” prints, top quality albums to enlarged wall art frames.
