Photographing the moments you don’t realise you’ll miss

The pictures you treasure most aren't always the ones with the biggest smiles or the most dramatic scenery. They’re the ones that are usually less than perfect, but capture exactly what it felt like. Gap toothed grins, bad hair days, clingy toddlers and newborn stage exhaustion. The mess of family life is so beautiful. So precious. So full of moments and life that go so quick.

I love aesthetic beauty AND emotional beauty - and my work is to bring the two together.

Based in Grampound near Truro (small home studio), and offering photoshoots on-location around Cornwall.

Why I do this

For the short time they’re all yours, and you’re their world.

13 years into parenthood, I have begun to realise how little time we actually have. The easy chats and close cuddles are fewer and farther between than I’d like to admit. The truth is, I underestimated how quickly it would go. It suddenly seems to change and that’s it. They’re not little any more.

It hurts having to let go those versions of my children, while loving who they are becoming. Part of me will always pine for the time when they were little. I know this will be true for you too.

I am so grateful to have some beautiful photos of their childhoods - my love language is seeing and capturing the beauty in the ordinary. They have a visual document of where they started, should they ever lose their way. As the world changes alongside them, these archives have so much more value than I ever imagined when I took them.

This is what I want your photos to be too.

For many years I have been obsessed with the art of creating space for real moments to unfold.

Whether it’s the sacred hush of the newborn bubble, or chaotic adventures on the beach with a family, being in the frame together is so important.

Even into the older, more awkward years, where the layers can feel hard.

These too are the good old days.

Whatever stage you’re at, the days in this chapter are numbered, and I’m here to help you savour them.

Q: Do you photograph extended families?

A: Yes I do - get in touch to find out more about supplementary charges for extended family sessions.

Q: What if my children don’t behave during our family photo shoot?

A: My process where children are involved includes steps to minimise meltdowns and to help ensure it’s a fun and relaxed experience for all. I include written prep guides with specific tips on little things that make a huge difference, and for families with children age 5 and over, a pre-session zoom chat is mandatory so that I can meet kids in advance and help them know what to expect.

Q: Where is your studio located and do you travel?

A: My home photography studio space is located in Grampound (between Truro & St Austell). I also travel throughout Cornwall for outdoor and at-home sessions.
