Breastfeeding portraits to celebrate and capture this special bond
If you are a nursing mama I’m sure you’ll agree that breastfeeding has been a huge part of your bond with your baby. Whether it’s been easy for you, or you’ve struggled and overcome some (or many) of the challenges that can come with breastfeeding, it is worth having these intimate moments documented while you have them.
Why book a breastfeeding photoshoot?
For me, offering the service of documenting Breastfeeding is a natural progression from my Newborn and Motherhood Photography. During any type of session, if a mum has to stop and give their baby a quick feed I always offer to take photos. Many hadn’t thought these photos would be very interesting, but they become a special memento and are treasured later on!
They might not be the photos that end up enlarged and up on display over the sofa, but to have these beautiful photos capturing that connection is very meaningful for mums, especially when the breastfeeding journey comes to an end.
Some feel that after a difficult pregnancy or birth, breastfeeding is a part of motherhood they especially appreciate and enjoy.
It’s such a short time
Even if you nurse into the toddler years, you know that the time you nourish your child through your body, is finite.
For some, booking a breastfeeding photoshoot as the end of this phase nears, is a way to honour and celebrate this journey you’ve shared with your baby. It can fill a mum with sadness even though you may know it’s time, and a big part of you is ready. It can still be a big transition and this photoshoot can really help.
Perhaps having decided to have no more children, the photos will have an added value.
Where to have your breastfeeding photoshoot
Your Breastfeeding Portrait Session can take place in my studio in Truro or on location at your home or outdoors in Cornwall.
We are spoilt for choice with natural beauty in Cornwall and I'd love to photograph you in your favourite beauty spot. As part of my usual session fee, I will travel to any location within 10 miles of Truro or the Roseland Peninsula. Any further will have a travel charge to compensate for the extra time involved.
