Do you provide outfits in newborn photography sessions?

Yes I do! I have a collection of beautiful custom made outfits, wraps and props which I know go photograph well and go with the fabrics and textures I use in my sessions. You don't need to buy anything, it is all included with your session.

Can my older child be in some of the photos?

Of course - I encourage older siblings to be included in the session, and a portion of each session is dedicated to family and sibling photos. These are the ones that will be most loved in years to come.

How long are your newborn sessions?

Newborn photoshoots can last 2-4 hours although I call it a day if we aren't getting anywhere after 3 hours. Sometimes it's just a fussy day for baby and we can reschedule if needed. 2 hours is the average though.

Where do you do your newborn sessions?

Most newborn photoshoots happen in the studio in Truro. It is cosy and I have all my props, wraps and tools right there. I also do home visits, which are beautiful and simple documentary style sessions which tell more of the story of your life with a newborn.

For sleepy curled up pictures, newborn photoshoots ideally happen within 2 weeks after birth. If older siblings are going to be included, I recommend within the first 7 days if possible.

Advance booking highly recommended to avoid disappointment and longer wait times for images.

My approach to newborn photoshoots

Because I am all about the emotions of this time, I love newborn photos to look soft, organic and natural. I think that neutral, earthy colours and textures capture the pure & innocent essence of tiny newborns. I work with natural light because I love immersing myself in the moment without any distractions, and have a collection of soft fabrics, blankets & handmade baby outfits for that simple, beautiful style. Simplicity is key to getting those images you’ll fall in love with again and again.

Your session is always a space for you to be you - your smiles & tears are welcome and the more emotion I can capture, the better.

I have over 10 years experience, and every one of my clients can assure you that you and your baby are in the safest of hands.

You can have your newborn photoshoot in my home studio in Grampound, Cornwall, or in the comfort of your own home.

Book your session

Pay your session fee & complete your contract to secure your slot. Newborn sessions are pencilled in for 6-10 days after due date. This can be rescheduled if baby arrives early or late.

planning & photoshoot

We’ll meet in person/online for your pre-session consultation & discuss goals & styling etc. Written prep guides will be made available too.

Day of the session - your time to let go and enjoy the moments that unfold with gentle guidance.

viewing & ordering

After the shoot I’ll curate & edit a final gallery of 30 - 40 images for you to choose from.

2-3 weeks later we’ll meet back at the studio where you can view the images and order your prints, albums, digital collections, and wall art.
