Boudoir photo shoot | Cornwall

Oh my goodness I love receiving requests for bookings that are a break from the norm!  Don't get me wrong - I love photographing babies, children and families, but I also love working with women, and boudoir sessions, I have realised, are awesome!!

Carly contacted me from a yacht in the middle of the ocean, saying she was coming back to Cornwall for her hen do for one weekend, a month before she and her fiancé return to Cornwall to get married.  She was interested in some artistic boudoir photos to present to her fiancé as a surprise the night before their wedding.  I was only too happy to help.  We chatted a bit and it was clear we both had a similar style in mind for the images. 

I booked her in for hair and make up in Truro, and managed to get use of one of the suites at the Hotel Tresanton in St Mawes where we met on a beautiful Friday morning.  She brought along the gorgeous lingerie she'd bought for her wedding night as well as her veil, which was a fun touch! The suite had two bedrooms so we could have a change of scene.  Naturally there were some nerves on both sides when we began, as neither of us are particularly experienced in this kind of thing.  But once we got going, she was sizzling and I think we could have carried on all day. 

I loved the beautiful light, and the different looks we were able to get from the areas in the hotel room. Changes of outfits/underwear was fun too, and honestly, Carly was so brave. Absolutely gorgeous!

She ordered a hard page mini album with a brown leather cover to give her fiancé with a selection of the images, and he absolutely loved it apparently.

I hope they enjoy many wonderful years together!

Since Carly’s session I have photographed several women for empowering portrait & boudoir sessions, and have a lovely studio in Truro that can accommodate these shoots. Mobile sessions are also offered if you’d prefer a location like this hotel, or your home or even outdoors.
