First family holiday in Cornwall - Crantock

This beautiful couple travelled down with their brand new baby daughter for her first Cornwall family holiday last month.  They booked a family photo shoot with me to capture this precious time of them together.  What could be more lovely than a week cosying up in a quaint Cornish cottage in November with your partner and baby! 

They'd arrived the evening before our session at their spot in Crantock, so were just at the beginning of their stay.  It is a gorgeous place to visit and the perfect time of year for some fresh sea air, quiet walks, late breakfasts, and cuddling up by the fire.  I've done a few photo shoots in Crantock and Newquay but I'm not too familiar with the area.  The holiday cottage they'd rented was tucked away near the pub, not far from the sea.  The day of our session was cold and windy, with showers, so we decided to stay indoors, just popping out for a few shots at the front of the cottage.  

Abigail quite aptly called it a Poldark cottage - it was full of wonky stone walls, nooks and crannies.  We moved from room to room while they settled Violet down, but we ended up in a top room which had fantastic light and gorgeous feel.  I wasn't loving any of the light I'd had so far (due to small windows and dark skies) but at the end of the session we had a quick look through the rooms again, and discovered this one on the top floor.  Exactly what I was hoping for! 

They were a really chilled out and happy couple, with lots of laughter - it was a fun session and I loved meeting them!
