I am obsessed with having top quality props and outfits for my photography clients to use in their sessions in Cornwall. I want to have a collection of stuff that is really special, unique and luxurious. There is a very specific aesthetic I go for, and it often takes me months to hunt down and buy or commission what I know will be the perfect addition to the client wardrobe I’m so proud of.

The ‘Wonder Years’ dress

This week the spotlight is on the amazing ‘Wonder Years’ dress from Fillyboo. I love collecting outfits and props that are handmade, gorgeous, and support small, sustainable brands. This company is based in Australia and the details of their folk & bohemian inspired garments are done in small family villages in Bali and Java. Their stuff is amazing and you should definitely check them out.

I drooled over this dress for many months. It kept popping up in other photographers’ pictures on Instagram and each time I would go back to the website and feast my eyes on their beautiful boho style maternity dresses. I loved their stuff but it was pricey. My strategy in the end was to check if they usually ran a Black Friday sale. They do, and so I spent a couple of months saving up in time for November.

It was so exciting when it arrived. I absolutely love it! It is technically a maternity dress but can be worn by anyone - perfect for motherhood photoshoots, breastfeeding, newborn sessions and of course bump photo shoots. 90% of mums who wear this dress say it feels almost like a wedding dress (one even said it is better than her wedding dress was!). Even better is that it literally fits everyone!
