Snuggly newborn session for Darcey

Darcey came in for a newborn session with her parents and big sister, Poppy. She was a dream baby - settling so easily and content most of the time. I loved the way she looked around when she was awake - those eyes taking in all the shapes of this new world. It’s amazing to think that 8 days ago she was still snug in her mum’s tummy!

It was lovely to get some gorgeous sleepy shots of her too. When it was time to get a photo with her older sister, I popped them both in a big wicker chair by the window. It took a few tries to get their positions just right for the light but I really love what we got in the end!

I try to keep my studio room homely for relaxed, natural shots. I love to incorporate elements of nature - plants, earth tones, textures. I work mainly with natural light too, as challenging as it can be I just love it.
